Hi there,
As you can see, spring has arrived in Sweden:
I’m loving it. This is why we moved up north. Well, it’s one of the reasons. Getting up in the morning and looking outside to discover thirty centimeters of snow. Priceless. That crisp sound when you first set foot on it. Amazing. Of course, it also means shoveling and slippery roads and all that. But there’s nothing like a landscape covered in a thick layer of white powdery snow.
Do you like winter? Or are you eagerly awaiting summer, hailing the advent of the evil day star?
Anyway, I’ve been quite busy lately. Getting things in order in our new home has kept us busy. You know,
assembling IKEA furniture, drilling holes for CAT-5e network cables, setting things up just right. At the same
time, I’m working on the outline of the new book. It’s coming along quite nicely, and I hope to start writing the
first chapters in about ten days from today.
On account of being busy, that’s it for now. As usual, I’ve included some reading you may be interested in, and a
music tip down below. Enjoy!

Bruut! has released a new and innovative album titled Zest. Sax, bass, drums and Hammond with a twist and a groove. An almost never-ending groove. At times, you’d think you’re listening to an electronic album, with a pumping four-on-the-floor driving the songs to unfathomable heights. Not eschewing electronic effects on this album, the band make familiar instruments sound like something new entirely.
The album is a product of the pandemic, much like my own Isolated Futures series. They would usually create their songs live in the repetition room, but with lockdowns this became impossible. Instead of grumbling and complaining, they embraced a new process, composing through online video calls and using modern software for musical collaboration. And the result is an excellent album that’s well worth listening to.
